Get married or die. Either way, there isn’t much time left for Jason Kim. The 29-year old advertising executive is struggling to overcome the terrible fate of an ancient family curse that threatens his very life if he is not married by his 30th birthday. A feel-good romantic comedy, it all takes off when the picture perfect girl, Jinnie Park, abandons Jason at the altar of the Wedding Palace. His 30th birthday or impending doom quickly approaching, potential bridal replacements are brought in for interviews by his traditional Korean parents. Unfortunately for them, Jason has no interest, rejecting all of his wedding-hopefuls and the family curse in favor of true love.
Described as the Korean, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” this roller-coaster comedy twists and turns when he finally meets the girl of his dreams on a business trip to Korea. Na Young Song is everything he ever wanted in a woman and their long-distance cyber love affair is fueled by imagination and 24/7 video chats. Jason proposes to his true love, delighting his anxious family. It isn’t until Na Young arrives in Los Angeles that Jason faces the reality of that sometimes relationships can be deeper over the web than face-to-face.
